Channel 2 News reported that Lois White from Atlanta is in shock after trying to deposit a check using mobile deposit into her Chase bank account.

She said:

"I feel like a criminal, like I've done something wrong... Apparently, they couldn't verify this check was real." -Lois White, Chase customer

US Government Forgave Lois White's Student Debt

Lois White received a letter in the mail from the U.S. Government forgiving her student debt.

The letter said, "Congratulations -- your student loan has been forgiven."

White was grateful that her debt was forgiven but had no idea that Chase Bank would flag the check as fraud.

Channel 2 News reported that Chase put a "fraud hold" on the check, and closed Lois White's bank account. The bank would not allow her access to her money.

Lois went down to the bank and took her letter.

She said:

"I went to the branch. I gave them this letter. I gave them this check, gave them my ID, my birth certificate, [my] social security card." -Lois White, Chase customer

Then Channel 2 News contacted Chase Bank. That's when the bank said they were "researching her case."

As of 8 December 2023, Chase Bank was still holding White's money.

She said:

"I'm devastated because I've always been able to pay my bills on time and handle my business. But I'm like couch surfing now." -Lois White, Chase customer

Utah Man Has Shoes Stolen by DoorDash Delivery Driver

KSL 5 News reported that Jordan Timothy ordered biking shoes on Amazon, and they arrived at his house while he was not there. He did receive a notification about the delivery.

However, when Jordan arrived home, his Amazon package was no longer there. Instead, he found a box on his porch from a cookie company.

Jordan then reviewed his Nest camera footage and was shocked to see the thief in action.

He said, “I just thought it was so audacious...To me, it's crazy.”

Jordan reported the theft to DoorDash and they responded rather quickly to his message with a strange reply.

It read:

“Hi Jordan, At this time, we are unable to confirm that the dasher has committed the reported theft based on the documentation provided.” -DoorDash

Jordan decided to file a police report of the theft, so he would have additional documentation to file with DoorDash, according to directions they provided to him.

Jordan's wife was just as stunned regarding how DoorDash responded to her husband.

She said:

“It’s one thing when you get just the people who will just drive by and steal stuff off people’s porches,” Katie Timothy said. “You can’t do much about that. But DoorDash knows.” -Katie Timothy, Jordan's wife

Update: DoorDash got back with Jordan Timothy on Tuesday, 12 September 2023, and let him know that the DoorDash driver was no longer with the company.

The video of the incident can be seen below.

According to an NPR report, US Foods conducted a survey asking 500 DoorDash drivers between the ages of 17 to 77 years old if they would admit to eating some of the food they were delivering. Almost 30% of the drivers admitted to taking a snack on their customers' orders.

54% of the drivers said they were "tempted by the smell of the food."
