Utah Man Has Shoes Stolen by DoorDash Delivery Driver

KSL 5 News reported that Jordan Timothy ordered biking shoes on Amazon, and they arrived at his house while he was not there. He did receive a notification about the delivery.

However, when Jordan arrived home, his Amazon package was no longer there. Instead, he found a box on his porch from a cookie company.

Jordan then reviewed his Nest camera footage and was shocked to see the thief in action.

He said, “I just thought it was so audacious...To me, it's crazy.”

Jordan reported the theft to DoorDash and they responded rather quickly to his message with a strange reply.

It read:

“Hi Jordan, At this time, we are unable to confirm that the dasher has committed the reported theft based on the documentation provided.” -DoorDash

Jordan decided to file a police report of the theft, so he would have additional documentation to file with DoorDash, according to directions they provided to him.

Jordan's wife was just as stunned regarding how DoorDash responded to her husband.

She said:

“It’s one thing when you get just the people who will just drive by and steal stuff off people’s porches,” Katie Timothy said. “You can’t do much about that. But DoorDash knows.” -Katie Timothy, Jordan's wife

Update: DoorDash got back with Jordan Timothy on Tuesday, 12 September 2023, and let him know that the DoorDash driver was no longer with the company.

The video of the incident can be seen below.

According to an NPR report, US Foods conducted a survey asking 500 DoorDash drivers between the ages of 17 to 77 years old if they would admit to eating some of the food they were delivering. Almost 30% of the drivers admitted to taking a snack on their customers' orders.

54% of the drivers said they were "tempted by the smell of the food."
